Recognising Resourcefulness

The Queensland Resources Council (QRC) Teacher and Pre-Service Teacher Awards are designed to recognise excellence in teaching about Minerals and Energy.


Teachers and Pre-Service teachers are acknowledged for their design of an original and exemplary unit of work or sequence of teaching ideas related to furthering students’ exploration of minerals and energy issues.

The units of work are intended to focus on the middle and senior schooling years (7 - 12) of the Queensland Syllabus, and may be entered in the areas of:
  • Science – Earth Science, Chemistry, Physics, Science 21
  • Mathematics
  • Design and Technology
  • Information and Communications Technology
  • Geography.

QRC will publish entries on the OresomeResources website to encourage other teachers to use these teaching ideas and resources.
