Teacher Awards – Previous Winners
Launched in 2008, the Queensland Resources Council (QRC) Teacher and Pre-Service Teacher Awards recognise excellence in developing minerals and energy related teaching materials.
Teachers receive acknowledgement for their design of an original and exemplary unit of work or sequence of teaching ideas related to furthering students’ exploration of minerals and energy issues.
Focusing on science, mathematics, geography and design curriculum areas, the QRC Teacher Awards are aimed at senior school level while the Pre-Service Teacher Awards are for units of work designed for use in upper primary or secondary classrooms.
The placing of maths and science concepts into a resources sector context provides students with real-life applications and an appreciation of the importance of particular topics across industries.
