The Queensland Resources Council (QRC) supports teacher education through the QRC Teacher Professional Development (TPD) program. The QRC TPD program offers a range of face-to-face and on-line opportunities for Queensland teachers and pre-service teachers aimed at increasing their understanding of the resources sector. This is a free service for Queensland teachers and pre-service teachers.
All Face-to-Face QRC TPD workshops provide teachers with practical ideas and the confidence to teach about exploration, extraction, processing and everyday uses of Queensland's minerals and energy resources across relevant areas in the Queensland curriculum. The Back-2-Basics workshop program is specifically designed to increase pre-service teacher understanding of basic scientific concepts and their application to resources-sector related concepts. Click here for further details about Face-to-Face Workshops.
On-Line PDs offer participants the opportunity to learn about the resources sector on-line in their own time. These workshops provide participants with access to a variety of on-line resources and the opportunity to contribute to forums, blogs and polls and participate in on-line chats and webinars. Click here for further details about On-Line PDs.
The QRC Teacher Webinar program provides participants with on-line, real-time access to industry experts in a range of resources-sector related fields. Topical issues relevant to the Queensland curriculum form the basis of the Webinar program. Click here for further details about Teacher Webinars.
