Environmental Impact Study (EIS)

An Environmental Impact Study (EIS) is conducted to assess the flora and fauna that exists prior to mining.

An Environmental Authority (EA) is then issued with the mining lease to regulate how the mining company is to interact with the environment. The rehabilitation requirements are different for every mine.
